Sound Healing - 20th Oct Darwin Yoga Space

SOUND HEALING

Back by popular demand! Both Brodie Walton and Nadine Warbrick use instruments from around the world as a team giving the 'layers' of live sound, surrounding you.

The Crystal Quartz singing bowls and Mamilima (didgeridoo), when used with intention, can raise ease your central autonomous nervous system, relieving stress, anxiety, depression, but also is a form of subconscious healing. This means, what we're carrying in our electromagnetic fields unconsciously, can be 'washed away'. Any 'low vibrations' like anger, stress, grief, depression, are lifted to frequencies of love, bliss and spaciousness.

Simply lying down the entire time, all you have to do is be there and let go of your mind. It's OK if you fall asleep! The sound vibrations work on a cellular and energetic level.

Stress-related hormones (adrenaline and cortisol) are acidic, and science now supports that this increases the likelihood of illness, not to mention laminates fascia tissue (makes you feel 'stiff'). When you fall into the 'alpha' (relaxation), 'theta' (flow state) or 'delta' (deep healing sleep) brain waves, the body's intelligence takes over. You drop into a natural slow breathing pattern. Your body is able to produce healthy hormones like serotonin (for restful sleep), oxytocin ('happy'), and so much more... Expect to feel relaxed, spacious and gain mental clarity.

$25 at the door (concession: please email us to arrange)

We've had good feedback from youths, seniors, pregnant women, elderly... this session is for everyone of all abilities.

Bring: comfortable loose clothing and yourself. Drink plenty of water before and after. All props are provided.

Breathwork Workshop (Breathwave TM)
Oct
26
2:00 PM14:00

Breathwork Workshop (Breathwave TM)

Come join us, in a relaxed setting where you can learn about Conscious Connected Breathing, Breathwave TM technique (a very relaxed but potent style of modern western breathwork from Canada) and dive into a 1 hour full breathwork session.

Both Nadine and Brodie are fully certified Breathwave TM practitioners. Conscious Connected Breathing is a therapeutic style of breathwork: there are no goals, and given the relaxed state of the body, the intelligence of the body's physiological systems take over and the 'breather' receives numerous benefits... But only if done correctly...

Nadine and Brodie use hands-on facilitation and can un-train negative breathing patterns that someone has gained from years of stress, depression, illness, or generally looking to deepen one's lung capacity (great for athletes as mentioned in Dr Brown's book 'Presence Process'). Often when we try to control our breathing, it can still result in shallow breathing patterns and poor digestion/elimination. When the diaphragm is trained to breathe without restriction or muscular contraction, the circulatory system, endocrine system and every cell of the body becomes flushed with electromagnetically charged energy. Science proves that we are electromagnetic beings, but constant stress, poor lifestyle choices inhibits this ‘charge’ and areas that don’t flush as well as others can accumulate in our body’s tissues and cause illness. Once you learn this technique, you can do this on your own.

You're not expected to know anything before you come - in fact, it's better if you come without expectations. It's nothing like "yogic breathing" or "relaxation or meditation breathing". You're conscious (awake) the entire time with your eyes closed and your body entirely relaxed. People can experience anything from deep relaxed states of consciousness, to extreme bliss and mental clarity.

For more information on Breathwave TM see www.breathwave.net

Bring: yourself, water bottle and an empty stomach (props are provided, we ask that you avoid eating 2 hours before)

$55 (please reserve your spot by purchasing a ticket, limited to 20 spaces)

26th October, 2-4.30pm (please be there by 1.50pm to register and settle into the space)

Yoga Teacher Development workshop - applied philosophy

Yoga Teacher Development workshop - applied philosophy

Why is philosophy (yogic, traditional or modern) important in a yoga class? What kind of influence do you want to have as a teacher? Who or what inspired you to teach yoga, and are you portraying that in your classes? What is it about the practice, that improves your life?

Yoga, as a holistic practice, isn’t just asana, or being physically healthy (ayurveda, the sister science of yoga). Yoga is a practice of the heart. Traditionally, the Vedic texts discussed yoga as a non-dualistic practice (we are not seperate from anything or anyone). There were many influences that also come from Hindu mythology, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, and many many more texts.

But also this might not be relevant to you as a teacher, BUT what message are you delivering to your community about what yoga is? Modern yoga could be interpreted as how yoga applies to any person, today. It’s not about saying random sentences now and then like ‘breathe deeply, feel your heart, connect to the earth’… Although there’s nothing wrong with that, there’s so much more to it...

This workshop is designed for yoga teachers, those aspiring to teach or want a deeper understanding of yogic philosophy. We will cover:
- Re-cap the 8 limb system from the Yoga Sutras
- Traditional philosophy and sanskrit
- Modern philosophy (on ‘being yoga’ and how this applies to every day people)
- How to sequence different styles of classes/styles, weaving in philosophy throughout your class in a structured way
- How to sound authentic and deliver ‘yoga’ in a way that is real to you
- Exercises using sequences and creating our own philosophy structures’ for effective class delivery

Never underestimate the power of your words and the effect they can have on another person. Delivering effective ‘philosophy' is the difference between teaching Asana, and teaching a transformational Yoga class that penetrates the hearts of potentially many.”

A Nature's Flow Breath Circle - 4th July

This is a 75-90 minute dive in to a full Breathwork Session with hands-on facilitation.

Venue: Darwin Yoga Space
When: 4th July 6pm
Investment: $35
Pay at the event (Facebook link here) or via bank transfer.

Whether you are new to Conscious Connected Breathing or you're a regular, come and enjoy the Breathwave TM technique that regenerates and heals the central nervous system... This is a great practice if you're under constant stress, you've suffered from Trauma or you're holding on to tension/emotions and you'd just like to strengthen and expand your lung capacity.

We focus on releasing all control and forcing of the breath, which affects the mind state. In relaxing the exhale breath in Conscious Connected Breathing, we activate our higher consciousness and Theta Waves of the brain. We are able to allow the body to be in its most natural state of joy, health and wellbeing. The body’s intelligence takes over in Breathwave TM, and can activate all areas of the brain, sending signals to the entire relaxed body to produce healthy hormones and stabilise stress/illness, gaining clarity, and immediate access our original joy state.

The hard part, is learning how to let go of controlling the breath.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before 6pm, wear comfortable loose clothing. Bring $35 or message to arrange for bank transfer.

Feel free to contact us if you have any health concerns. It's safe for everyone (and is great for pregnant mothers or those looking to get pregnant too).

WE WON'T BE HOLDING A BREATH CIRCLE IN AUGUST due to being away, so if you cannot make this first Thursday session, we are hosting a full educational informative workshop on 14th July (details in events page).

For more information on Breathwork (Breathwave TM technique), please see www.naturesflow.com.au or breathwave.net.

Cacao + Breath Ceremony

Cacao + Breath Ceremony

Let us take you on a journey…

A journey back home. Where the Heart lives.

Raw ceremonial grade cacao is a medicine of the heart. Not only does it stimulate healthy blood circulation, it is heavy in antioxidants, great as a mood-lifter, and one cup is enough to relax your muscles (strong dose of magnesium)!

This is a Breathwave TM Workshop, which means we take the time to go in depth into what Conscious Connected Breathing is, and how Breathwave is a natural self healing tool you can use for a variety of reasons. It is a journey in itself, and so we will take the time to educate in an in depth discussion to what we would be looking for in a deep breathing pattern. There are wonderful breathing techniques out there, and Breathwave is a culmination of decades of modern science, physiology and energetic body work.

Both Nadine and Brodie facilitate with hands-on pressure point therapy, and ensure your body stays as relaxed as possible throughout the session. Like any Breathwave session, you lie down the entire time.

Held at Darwin Yoga Space, we will start with the workshop discussion. We then enter into a smudge ceremony (outside in the garden space), followed by serving raw cacao, prepared in the right way to ensure the full benefits of the ‘medicine’ is received and absorbed in your body. We will then enter in to a full Breath session with plenty of relaxation afterwards with live sound healing instruments.

Expect open-heartedness, fun, and a strong connection to yourself.

Benefits from Breathwave include deeper sleep, clarity of future/mental thought, downloads/insightfulness, trauma injury and emotional release, detoxification of the body and overall sense of intense presence!

Bookings are essential as we are limiting the ‘circle’ to 22 people.

$55 early bird (finishes 18th April) $65 full price.

Once full, we won’t be able to accept walk-ins on the day.

Bring: yourself, optional item that represents you for the centre, water bottle. Drink plenty of water leading up to it - it will be a massive detox - and avoid eating at least an hour before 2pm on the day.

No experience necessary.

The South West Yoga Festival movement started in 2018 with Heather Starr from Starr Light Yoga being its founder and MC. Nadine is beyond excited to share again at the second ever South West Yoga Festival, but this time she's joined by Brodie in creating healing sound vibration with Divine intent, doing a blissful yin yoga session. Yin is more than just a few relaxy-type posture holds. This session will be infused with traditional Chinese movement, Maori and indigenous morals of healing, with breathing techniques.

Brodie is also leading a Men's Circle to acknowledge and discuss what it means to not only be masculine, but also how to hold sacred space in a balanced way.

Last Festival was a full day, this time around it's going to be two nights with the option to camp at the Solitaire Homestead resort in Dunsborough.

Both Nadine and Brodie can't wait to be a part of the community in South Western Australia again!

Men's Stretch and Breathwork Circle - 5th Feb

A yoga/movement class for men, followed by a Breathwork session guided by Brodie Walton.
$15 (confirm your spot with a ticket - spots limited to 12)

Held at the Nightcliff Community Centre at 6.30pm (start 6.45pm with time to hangout for chat afterwards).

Brodie was born in WA and worked for 10 years in the mining industry as a truck driver. Since leaving the industry, he’s become a yoga teacher and Breathwork facilitator. He understands how much stress men can take on and how tricky it can be to de-stress. He has designed a 'bloke' friendly stretch class for all levels, then when the men are laying down, will guide them through a Breathwork session to 'lighten the load'.

Brodie will guide the men through a series of postures adapted for the masculine body. The session is then followed by Breathwork (Breathwave TM technique). For more information on the technique used, see www.breathwave.net.

Breathwork is now mainstream internationally thanks to the pioneers who have spread the benefits (physically, mentally and spiritually) of having a regular breathwork practice. Brodie can show you how to do it and then do it on your own. More athletes, public personalities and celebrities are using this technique for various reasons. If you're curious, feel free to message Brodie directly: naturesflowyoga@gmail.com.

- yourself as you are (no experience with anything necessary)
- water bottle
- mat and pillow/blanket for comfort at the end

Breath Circle - 26th January - Breath Party to Unite

A Breath Circle embracing the ancestors of this country, the traditional and native title owners of the lands, waters and songlines. We share our DNA with this land, we are interconnected beings whose hearts are in constant communication with each other.

Nature's Flow always acknowledges the traditional ancestors and owners of Australia and Darwin in every Breath Circle ceremony. We actively promote the wellbeing of the culture that makes Australia unique - its First Nations cultures spread throughout the country and their right to Self Determination.

An alternative day to '26 January': it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip. It's a controversial day in Australia's history, one we won't 'celebrate'.

We will instead celebrate being conscious together, acknowledging the sad colonial history of Australia, and form loving bonds between all humans on the planet, especially ourselves. We will celebrate the uniqueness of the local Aboriginal and Islander culture!

Nature’s Flow Breath Circle 29th December, 2-4.30pm (2.5hr)

A BREATH CIRCLE using Breathwave TM technique - with 3 Qualified Breathwave TM facilitators!

Everyone is welcome to come manifest together!

(Post - Xmas/festivities, pre 2019 Breath Circle…)

This Breath Circle will focus on clearing 2018, and inviting in for 2019. What are we inviting in? Clearing space for? Wanting clarity with?

Breathwork and Conscious Connected Breathing is now taking off in Darwin. This is another workshop style event, however we are shaping it around the intention of ‘manifestiation’.

We are our own greatest power, but at times our greatest obstacle. We can learn to ‘get out of our own way’, remove the ‘blocks’ to progress, and step forward in confidence.

This session will include a grounding exercise (post festivities), an invigorating breath circle to cleanse and clear, and then a longer relaxation period to invite and receive our downloads for what needs to come in 2019.

Liberating the Breath: Conscious Connected Breathing

At Agoy Yoga Darwin

Starts 3pm (come at 2.30pm to set up your space and meet us!)

Functioning in the Fight or Flight (sympathetic nervous system) Mode and under high stress for prolonged periods of time leads to imbalances in the mind and body, illness and unprocessed emotion.  Sadly, this is how we are programmed to function from an early age. We glamourise being “busy” and spend money on healing ourselves, rather than spending time learning how to live well.

Breathing is the first and last thing you’ll ever do. Everyone knows how to breathe, but rarely do our bodies know how to breathe well. We are not digesting our food as we should, absorbing oxygen or getting enough restful sleep.

Conscious Connected Breathing is a style that is spreading like wildfire similar to yoga, becoming more popular in what it gives to an individual in a short space of time. ‘Breathwork’ is the general term used for ‘conscious connected breathing’.

What to wear/bring?

Comfortable loose clothing.

Bring a journal (or notebook) for messages or moments of clarity. Similar to when you go to sleep and you’re about to drift off, then you’ll have a lightbulb moment you need to remember when you wake up.

It’s important to hydrate, drink water before and after the session.

Bring a blanket (padded mat/yoga mat with a blanket on top) and pillow for your head.

Optional: bring something for the altar symbolising you or your journey of self discovery and growth. This could be a photo, trinket, piece of jewellery etc.

Invoking the Rainbow Serpent Spirit of the Divine Feminine

Nadine is guiding attendants in the yoga and meditation sessions at the Goddess Conference in Australia, held in Sydney 14-16 September.

Teachers, light keepers and soul workers are being called to help the collective raise their high vibrations all over the world. At this conference, wisdom keepers (speakers) are gathering in Sydney to discuss and spread wisdom to the collective, and to absorb from each other. It's a sacred space for women to share collective wisdom. The days are full with ceremony, practice, sharing skills and imparting knowledge to each other from various healing modalities, ancient knowledge and modern application.

Nature's Flow: The Flow of Breath PERTH (FULL)

Breathing is the first and last thing you'll ever do. In ancient and indigenous cultures, the breath, sound and movement are used for ceremony, spiritual alignment and connecting to 'Source'. Our world has overloaded our nervous systems and so our breathing is often reflecting our environment. A regular Breathwork practice can be the start of life changing peace and better health.

Brodie and Nadine have travelled the world experiencing, learning, training and co-facilitating internationally.  There are more than 9 different types of 'Breathwork'. Their training is in a gentle technique called BreathWave adapted by Robin Clements. This technique comes with 20 years of experience and adaptation, which mirrors the laws of nature.  It is 'a gentle approach to conscious connected breathing.' Breathwork is still such a new modality, sweeping across the world and is often described as "the new yoga".
